New website for YEG Powerline
Web Preference launched the new website for specialist power conversion distributor, YEG Powerline.
The website was a large project for the company, involving a large number of products (over 1200 in total) which serve as a reference point for both salesmen and clients alike. To this end, Web Preference facilitated the easy uploading of the product range, and a search mechanism which allows for the efficient display of them.
The full feature list is provided below:
- Content management system
- Search for power supplies and fans
- Tracking site visits through cookies and registration of email addresses for PDF downloads
- Ability to zoom in on product images
- News module
- Contact form
- Search engine friendly urls
- Mark up in XHTML 1.0 Strict and use of valid CSS throughout for layout and styling

This was a big task with over 800 products and associated images and spec sheets all searchable in a very user friendly way. First reports are very good both from a user point of view and aesthetically. Your team have worked tirelessly with almost daily communications over the last three months and you have interpreted our requirements perfectly ,utilising the latest web design techniques to make the content and visitor experience engaging and rewarding. I appreciate your input in helping us to develop an even better site than we had envisaged.
I am particularly impressed with the updated editor which allows us to easily update the site without the need to use complicated programmes or risk messing up the code - this has already proved invaluable as our staff are able to do product updates themselves - an essential feature in a product oriented site which is constantly changing.
I am sure the site will be a useful resource for our customers and prospects and I have no doubt this will put out company on the radar of future buyers and be of great benefit to our existing customers and indeed our internal staff.
